Education Benefits Programs
Virginia Wesleyan offers a $149 per credit hour grant to any student participating in the Evening & Weekend or programs, who is using Military Tuition Assistance or is Active Duty (not using their GI Bill).聽聽The Military Grant creates a $250 per credit hour tuition rate.聽To be eligible for this grant, the student MUST turn in their Tuition Assistance form or copy of their current military orders before the beginning of each semester to 麻豆精品视频’s Certifying Official.

Tuition and fees - If you qualify for the maximum benefit, the full cost of public, in-state tuition and fees are covered. There is a rate cap for private and foreign schools.
Money for housing (if you’re in school more than half time) - Receive a monthly housing allowance based on the cost of living where your school is located.
Money for books and supplies - receive up to the maximum stipend per school year.
Money to help you move from a rural area to go to school - You may qualify for a one-time payment if you live in a county with 6 or fewer people per square mile and you’re either moving at least 500 miles to go to school or have no other option but to fly by plane to get to your school.
The Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR) program offers up to 36 months of education and training benefits. If you’re a member of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard Reserve, Army National Guard, or Air National Guard, you may be eligible for this benefit.
Through the Yellow Ribbon Program, 麻豆精品视频 and the VA will match the amounts remaining for tuition and fees that exceed the academic year cap for the聽Post 9-11 GI Bill庐.
The Post-9/11 GI Bill庐 will pay you the higher of the actual tuition & fees or $26,381.37 per academic year for a private school
Eligibility
Only veterans enrolled in the Post 9-11 GI Bill庐, entitled to the maximum benefit rate (based on service requirements) or their designated transferees may receive this funding. Active duty service members and their spouses are not eligible for this program (child transferees of active duty service members may be eligible if the service member is qualified at the 100% rate).
Therefore, you may be eligible if:
- You served an aggregate period of active duty after September 10, 2001, of at least 90 days;
- You were honorably discharged from active duty for a service connected disability and you served 30 continuous days after September 10, 2001;
- You are a dependent eligible for Transfer of Entitlement under the Post-9/11 GI Bill庐 based on a veteran's service under the eligibility criteria listed above.

All four service branches and the U.S. Coast Guard offer financial assistance for voluntary, off-duty education programs in support of service members’ personal and professional goals. The program may fund up to 100% of your college tuition and certain fees.
Cost Limits:
- Not to exceed $250 per semester credit hour or $166 per quarter credit hour
- Not to exceed $4,500 per fiscal year, Oct. 1 through Sept. 30
Not covered by TA:
- Books and course materials
- Flight training fees
- Taking the same course twice
- Continuing education units, or CEUs

VWU has partnered with MYCAA to offer workforce development training to military spouses. The My Career Advancement Account Scholarship is a workforce development program that provides up to $4,000 of tuition assistance to eligible military spouses. The scholarship assists military spouses in the pursuit or maintenance of a license, certification, or associate degree necessary to gain employment in an occupation or career field. Military.
Who is eligible:
- The annual fiscal year cap is $2,000 to assist eligible military spouses.
- An annual cap waiver may be available if the cost exceeds $2,000, up to the maximum education benefit of $4,000.
- Spouses of service members on active duty in pay grades E-1 to E-6, W-1 to W-2, and O-1 to O-3 who have completed high school and have the ability to request tuition assistance while their military sponsor is on
- Title 10 military orders are eligible.
- Spouses married to members of the National Guard and reserves in these same pay grades are eligible.
The scholarship does not pay for the following:
- Tuition for courses and examinations not included in the spouse’s Education and Training Plan and courses already started or completed by the spouse
- Reimbursements of any kind
- Books, supplies, equipment, uniforms, computers, and electronic devices of any kind
- Student activities, events, and entertainment

The General Education Mobile (GEM) Program is an exciting partnership between the Community College of the Air Force and Virginia Wesleyan University to offer General Education courses to meet the general education requirements for the CCAF associates in applied science. Virginia Wesleyan’s online courses enable students to complete their general education requirements during our mini-terms that are offered 4 times a year.
